Day 184: Finally Finished

I didn't get time to put the bike back together over the weekend and since I'm heading off on Wednesday morning I thought I should get it done tonight. It all went back together pretty smoothly but I did have to tie wire the throttle grip on because it kept slipping on the tube.

My photo today is of the little switch that turns my Chinese Hot Hands on & off, it's not a very pretty switch but I guess one can't expect too much for a $15 kit.

Day 181: A Little Help

This is Pete busily wiring up all the bits of my Chinese Hot Hands kit that will keep my hands toasty and warm without turning my bike into a fireball on the side of the road, it's handy having a mate who can help you out on a Friday night like this. It didn't take too long and all I have to do over the weekend is put it all back together again now that the wiring has been done and tested.

In other news, Robbie and Damon arrived for the weekend tonight. I've been looking forward to getting my pyjama top back since I left it behind when we visited them a few months ago. Of course I'm also looking forward to catching up with Robbie and Damon again too.

Day 180: Additional Supplies

The two items at the top left of todays photo were not part of the heated hand grips kits that I bought earlier this week. I've also taken to calling the heated had grips my "Chinese Hot Hands". On Pete's advice I popped in at Jaycar today and picked up the relay and the inline fuse holder, these are precautionary items: The relay is just in case I forget to turn off my Chinese Hot Hands - when wired in it will automatically cut the power to the heating elements as soon as the ignition is turned off. The in line fuse holder is just in case my Chinese Hot Hands malfunction and draw so much current that the wires get hot enough to set my bike on fire. I'm glad Pete is coming over tomorrow night to help me fit them.

Day 23: Happy Chinese New Year

I had lunch with my friend Doris today (whom I work with and sometimes reads this blog) and as she's originally from Hong Kong we thought it fitting to have something asian inspired to celebrate Chinese New Year. We chose to dine at Bambusa, quite a nice little restaurant in Manuka that speacialises in Modern Asian Cuisine. Doris recommended the Tapas for lunch, which is what you can see in today's photo. It sounds weird I know, Tapas at an Asian restaurant, but I have to say it just works.

I got a little excited when the dish came out and ate half of what I think was a Yuba Cake (delicious!) before I remembered to snap a shot of the dish on my trusty iPhone.

I highly recommend the Chinese Tapas, it was all so yummy and the service was great too. I'll definitely be keeping Bambusa in mind next time Belinda and I manage to get a night off together... which might even be sooner than later with Daphne coming for a visit tomorrow! (I know my Mother in Law reads my blog... Subtle hey?)
