Day 347: Enchanting Inconsistencies

Henry likes to watch In The Night Garden after his bath, it's a bit of a strange show but it really captivates our little man. You can see how intently he's watching it while gripping his bath towel just like Iggle Piggle holds his little red blanket... If you don't know what I'm talking about you obviously don't have a two year old Night Garden addict.

There's one thing that bugs me with this show and that is the inconsistent scale of the Pinky Ponk and the Ninky Nonk. One minute they're small enough to go under a bridge that only just fits Makka Pakka walking under it and the next the minute the Pinky Ponk and Ninky Nonk are big enough to cary all of the characters at once. It's fair to say I don't find the show as enchanting as Henry does.

Day 327: Experimenting With The Sun

I thought I'd experiment with the manual settings on my Nikon and try taking a photo of the sun today. I think it worked out pretty well and I like how the sun has the rays coming out of it like you'd see in a kids drawing. The settings I used were: ISO 100, F/16 and the shutter speed was 1/320. Most of the settings don't really mean that much to me but I figure it's worth making a note of them in case I want to shoot directly into the sun again.

Day 264: Meow

I made it home before Belinda and Henry this afternoon and decided to take a little photo shooting safari in the back yard. While I was wandering around the back yard I kept hearing strange little rustlings in the bushes, eventually Daisy emerged and in a rare show of cooperation she posed for me instead of bolting in the opposite direction. She was covered in cobwebs, some small leaf litter and quite a lot of loose fur but the pose was so much like the typical kids drawing of a cat that I had to use it.

Day 232: Googong Goodies

The good folk from the Googong development arranged a builders guild exhibition for today, it was a chance to see all the builders who are approved to build in the development in one place. We had a wander around and spoke to most of the builders, collected a bunch of business cards and left our details with those whose details we collected. I'm sure we'll be getting a few calls next week.

Upon arrival at the expo we were given a little Googong show bag that contained a few brochures and other things we didn't look at. The thing we did look at is the subject of my photo today: The little tin of Jelly Beans. We actually got 3 of these which can only be attributed to walking in with two kids - one each for the kids and the one in the show bag, kids really can be useful. The jelly beans are very yummy and are mostly gone already.

So, the highlight of the day was the Jelly Beans. I'm sure the Googong folk would be pleased to hear that.
